Super 8

Super 8 movieAlthough until now the project Super 8 was in an aura of mystery, director JJ Abrams decided in Super Bowl weekend, to shed light regarding the movie's plot.

Until now we knew that would be produced by Steven Spielberg and the movie will be set in a fictional small town - Lillian Heights, Ohio, in 1979 and involved a train derailment, "something" that tries to escape from this accident and a Super Camera 8 mm.

In an interview with the Hero Complex, Abrams has given few details.

"To me, all people need to know is that it’s an adventure about a small town and it’s funny, it’s sweet, it’s scary and there’s a mystery: What is this thing that has escaped? What are the ramifications of its presence? And what is the effect on people? But I know that’s not enough. Look, I feel we need a little bit of a coming-out party because we are up against massive franchises and brands and most people don’t know what ‘Super 8? means. We’re a complete anomaly in a summer of huge films ... and we don’t want to be so silent or coy that people don’t care or don’t hear about it."

The project has resulted in two separate scenarios: One contained a vague idea about a group of children who see the world through a super 8 camera and the other had an interesting premise about a train headed to Area 51, which does not reach its destination.

Super 8 will have a very competitive weekend of release, because it will be in June that rivals the Green Lantern and the latest X-Men film franchise.
